New melodic, deep jam, kind of synthwaveish, maybe? Using Synthstrom Deluge, Twisted Electrons MegaFM & Acid8 Mk2, Waldorf Pulse2 & Streichfett, MI Shruthi-1, Jomox MBase11 and Electrix Filter Queen.

This one again making use of the chord arpeggiator in the Micromonsta. Big lush sounds coming from the Pulse 2 and Streichfett. Dreamy chimes from the MegaFM and a nice overtone pluck sound from the Acid8 which as usual does best when not trying to sound one bit like a 303.

Another one kicked of with sound design on the MegaFM, that huge chord loop going through most of the song. Plus another nice use of the Acid8 as a not really 303 clone, utilizing the apreggiator for some strange chirps. Topped off with the polyphonic arpeggiator in the Micromonsta, love that thing!

New track with Synthstrom Deluge, Twisted Electrons MegaFM & Acid8 Mk2, Waldorf Pulse2 & Streichfett, MI Shruthi-1, Jomox MBase11 and E-Mu Proteus 2000 and Electrix Filter Queen.

This one started out with sound design on the MegaFM (really loving this synth so far), came up with this great guitarish sound (the 3-note arpeggio and triggered by the keyboard). Experimenting with some odd pattern lengths which gives this a very organic feel.
Also a prominent showing from another Twisted Electrons creation, the Acid8 mk2, which is an awesome machine as long as you don’t try to treat it like a 303 clone.

Working on a series of tracks each with sound design on a different synth as as starting point. This one started with the chord sequence in the intro on the Waldorf Pulse 2, that I more or less always use in paraphonic mode for chords which it does really nicely.

First video in a while, been crazy hard at work building my new studio. This is the first recorded jam after getting everything hooked up again, hope you like it!
Started off with a nice evolving wavetable pad on the great little Audiothingies Micromonsta, then after a bit of unusual bassline duty for the Jomox Mbase11 everything sort of fell into place.

The Twisted Electrons MegaFM is a great little FM synth with full hands-on control. Oddly, it hasn’t received a lot of hype on the net, but for me it’s a dream. Small desktop format, everything controlled on the front panel, and tons of character sound-wise. While most FM synths tend to sound rather “polite”, this one has a lot of grit and dirt from the 9-bit converters and crossover distortion created by the weird voice multiplexing going on in the YM2612 chips. Capable of sounds ranging from screaming overdrive to lush clean timbres. What’s there not to like? 🙂

In this video I’m demoing a couple of nice patches I made shortly after plugging the unit in (FM programming has never been so much fun!), followed by an improvised live jam with the Deluge looper using only sounds from the MegaFM.

Here’s a way of doing seamless “DJ style” transitions between songs in my live sets using 2x Electribe 2 Samplers and external synths. Would also work well with Digitakt and other sampler/sequencers.
One of the neat things about doing it this way is that it doesn’t require preparing transitions in advance and allows freedom to transition between any song in your repertoire, like in a DJ mix.

Performing a new track using Synthstrom Deluge, Arturia Beatstep, Mutable Instruments Shruthi-1, Jomox MBase11, Audiothingies Micromonsta, Twisted Electrons Acid8 mkII, Waldorf Pulse 2, E-MU Proteus 2000 & Electrix Filter Queen.

Part of my production workflow is to assemble (most of) the parts on the Deluge and then live jam a starting point of an arrangement. Multitrack recording it standalone on my RME UFX then finishing in the daw. This is the raw stereo output from the recording session straight to camera. Hope you enjoy!
